The SOUL Cal Experience High Desert Music Festival sponsored by Desert Community Bank was recently held in the High Desert at Adelanto Stadium.

The lineup featured iconic groups from the 1970’s and 1980’s including ConFunkShun, Lakeside, Tierra Legacy and a cover band the Bromatics. The event was hosted by Dion Drake from KDUC 94.3, with intermission music was provided DJ Patrick.

In addition to the amazing lineup, the music festival also featured great food and vendors. Desert Community Bank also had customers provide testimonials on how they assisted their businesses.

“This was a great event. Great music, great food, great venue and good people,” said James Chapman. “I attended the Soul Cal Experience in Redlands last year. They put on great events. I’m looking forward to their next event,” he added.

The temperature dropped to the low 50’s come night fall, but the intimate crowd braved the cold to see the legendary groups from back in the day.

The Bromatics opened the show and had the crowd out of their seats throughout their entire set with a number of cover tunes from the Motown era. Tierra Legacy, which is made up of original members of Tierra and their children, had the crown singing along with familiar tunes from the 80’s including the ever popular wedding song “Together.”

The temperature continued to drop, but the crowd stayed to see Lakeside and ConFunkShun perform their award winning hits. Lakeside warmed the crowd and had them out their seats with the up tempo tunes including the show stopper “Fantastic Voyage.”

ConFunkShun closed the show and entertained the crowd with smash hits including “Fun,” “Chase Me” and “Love Train” who Soul Sonic featuring Bruno Mars and Anderson Pak remade to make it popular song among the youth.

“This was great, the lineup was amazing. The SOUL Cal Experience High Desert Music Festival can become one of the best music events in the High Desert,” said Chapman.
