Stater Bros. Charities Kicks off “Harvesting Hope in our Community”

Stater Bros. Markets and its philanthropic arm, Stater Bros. Charities are stepping in and raising critical funds to support local food banks and hunger relief programs to address food insecurity in the communities we serve.

Now through December 31st, all Stater Bros. Markets locations will be collecting monetary donations to help fill the food banks with fresh and healthy food. To join the fight against hunger, customers and employees can contribute at any checkstand by donating loose change in the coin canisters, adding a $5 donation card during checkout, or scanning the QR code. To make an even greater impact, donations are also being accepted online or by simply texting STATER to 41444.

“It has been a challenging year, given the pandemic and the impact it’s had on the health and well-being of our communities. Families are struggling to put food on the table due to job loss, furloughs, and school closures; and worry about where their next meal is coming from,” stated Nancy Negrette, Chairman and President Stater Bros. Charities. “Hunger isn’t canceled, and with the holidays upon us our neighbors are going to need our support now more than ever. The pandemic, if anything, has reminded us that we could all use a little help from time to time. That’s why, it’s crucial we take action and raise funds to help our neighbors cope during this crisis and continue to thrive,” Negrette continued.

Funds raised throughout the campaign will support the following local food banks* and will provide relief so that families can put food on the tables, pay bills, and meet other basic needs. Together, we can give the gift of hope this holiday season to ensure children, families, and seniors have access to nutritious meals. Every dollar counts, and giving a little can make a huge difference for those facing hunger in our local communities.

 Local food bank partners:

  • Community Action Partnership of Kern County
  • Feeding America of Riverside l San Bernardino Counties
  • FIND Food Bank
  • Inland Harvest Food Bank
  • Los Angeles Regional Food Bank
  • San Diego County Food Bank
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County
  • The Salvation Army

*Funds support additional food banks and hunger relief programs on a smaller scale.

Stater Bros. Charities is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that supports critical needs in the communities where Stater Bros. employees live and work.  Since 2008, Stater Bros. Charities has provided funding to countless local organizations and causes that benefit hunger relief, children’s well-being, education, health, help for our nation’s veterans and active service members.  Funds are raised throughout the year from generous customers, supplier friends, and caring members of the Stater Bros. Supermarket Family.
