North Standouts Headed to UCR
The UC Riverside women’s basketball program is currently going through a rough spot, however, they are slowly but surely building the program into a Big West contender with local talent. Two seniors from Riverside North High School recently signed scholarship letters to be a part of the Highlanders next season. Akilah Martin (L), shown above with friend and teammate Brittany Crain, recently participated in an official visit and signing ceremony on the campus. Martin, a guard who carries a 3.50 GPA, will be an asset to the backcourt, while Crain, a
forward with a 3.25 GPA, will add much needed depth to the front court. Even though both Martin and Crain are excited about what the future holds, their main focus is on competing for a Big VIII League Title this year.
