Principal for a Day: Behind the Scenes Look at Public Education
PUBLIC INVITED TO A BEHIND-THE-SCENES LOOK AT PUBLIC EDUCATION
Parents and community leaders are encouraged to participate in the San Bernardino City Unified School District’s 16th annual Principal for a Day Program on Friday, February 3.
The program is a partnership among the District, the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce and the Highland Area Chamber of Commerce. The
Principal for a Day Program allows community members to gain first-hand knowledge of public schools by shadowing a principal.
Past participants have found the experience informative and rewarding. After the 2010 Principal for a Day event, Timothy Smith of Learning Matters Educational Group said he had expected to find kids running all over at Arrowview Middle School. What he found instead were “teachers excited about teaching and students excited about learning.”
Community members who would like to participate should contact Nettie Kaseno, Communications secretary III, at (909) 381-1250 or nettie.rochakaseno@sbcusd.com; the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce at (909) 885-7515; or the Highland Area Chamber of Commerce at (909) 864-4073.
