The deadline to submit responses to the High Desert Survey has been extended to September 15^th, according to Joseph W. Brady, initiator of the survey and one of its key sponsors.

The High Desert Survey seeks to identify the challenges and issues affecting the region that rank among the highest priorities of its residents. “Based upon the results of the survey residents of the area and their governmental representatives will be better equipped to address these issues with targeted strategies aimed at problem resolution,” stated Brady. By extending the deadline to September 15, survey organizers hope to increase the number of respondents well into the 13,000-15,000 range.

To date, over 10,300 residents have responded to the survey, which has received strong support from local business entities, the Hispanic/Latino Community Coalition and numerous elected officials representing various High Desert constituencies. The High Desert Survey has been endorsed by US Representative Paul Cook, State Senator Scott Wilk (21^st District),California Assemblyman Jay Obernolte and San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Third District Representative Dawn Rowe.

• Congressman Cook states that “I want to commend those who put together the High Desert Survey.  This effort will help leaders chart a path forward for our community, and it will inform important decisions in the future.  Your voice counts, and I strongly encourage everyone to take the survey to make sure your voice is heard.”

“We decided to extend the survey because we have identified additional organizations and groups within the First District that initially had some concerns or confusion regarding the survey. To ensure as broadly representative a sample as possible we have reached out to the Hispanic, African-American and Korean communities and want to be sure that everyone has ample time to learn of and complete the survey,” stated Brady.
