Going Mainstream:
Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine is quoted as saying that the late pop star's children will attend school for the first time later this year. The 80-year-old told Britain’s Mail on Sunday tabloid that Jackson’s three children--Prince, 13, Paris, 12, and Blanket, 8--have had private lessons up until now. The paper quoted Katherine Jackson as saying that the children would go to an unidentified private school starting in September. The children have been in their grandmother’s care since the singer died in June.

Paid in Full: Michael Jackson’ estate and the company that produced the pop star’ memorial service will pay $1.3 million to Los Angeles to cover city expenses for last summer’ tribute. Los Angeles officials criticized the estate and AEG last year for not helping the cash-strapped government pay what the city estimated was $1.3 million paid for putting extra police on the streets, trash pickup, sanitation and traffic control. The payments, which will include $1 million cash to the city’ general fund, “ill now allow us to finally put this issue behind us,”AEG president Timothy Leiweke said.
Settled:
Angela Lowe, the widow of R&B singer Sean Levert, who died suspiciously six days after being jailed back in March 2008, has settled her lawsuit against Cuyahoga County in Ohio and the umbrella company that oversees medical care at the jail. The settlement, which was reached this month, is one of the largest in the state’s history. According to Lowe’s attorney, David Malik, the court documents do not contain admission of liability, but it was agreed overall that Levert's death was an unexpected tragedy. Levert, who was 39 at the time of his death, was arrested for back child support payments in excess of $90,000. He had three children from former relationships. The former member of the 1980s R&B group LeVert was not allowed to take his prescribed anti-anxiety medication, Xanax, during the entire time he was jailed. A coroner’s report revealed that the singer’s death was a direct result of withdrawals from not being able to take the drug. Levert began to hallucinate in jail and had trouble breathing after guards shackled him to a restraint chair. Medical negligence and absurd jail policies contributed to Levert’s death. There was no provision in place for inmates to get their prescribed medications upon arrival, which meant that many had to go without them for long periods. A year after Levert's untimely death, the jail adopted a policy stating that inmates taking anti-anxiety drugs should be given those meds once their prescriptions are verified. If the prescription can’t be verified, the inmate should be scheduled to see a psychiatrist that day or the next. “Sean;s Law,” named after Levert and sponsored in the Ohio General Assembly by State Rep. Barbara Boyd, mandates that every county jail give each inmate a thorough medical, dental and mental-health exam upon arrival. Sean’s father is lead O’Jays vocalist Eddie Levert.

Briefly: Former child star Kellie S. Williams, who is best known as Laura Winslow on the long-running sitcom ‘Family Matters,’ gave birth to a baby girl. Williams’ daughter, Hannah Belle, is the actress' first child. The 34-year-old Washington, D.C. native got married in September of 2009 to Hannibal Jackson, who runs a government contracting company.

Finally: For its seventh season, HBO’s “Entourage” is enlisting a superstar who’s known for rolling with his own mega-entourage. Sean “Diddy” Combs will make a guest appearance on the series’ upcoming season, which kicks off June 27.  The show’s creator, Doug Ellin, told EW.com that Diddy will appear as himself alongside “Entourage” executive producer Mark Wahlberg in an episode set to air in August.
