Superwoman Blogger:
A woman from New Jersey has won the job of blogging for pregnant R&B star Alicia Keys, and she was introduced to fans at a televised concert in New York late last month. The superstar is preparing to launch a female empowerment website, called IAmASuperwoman.com (IAAS.com), this autumn, and signing up Alexis Tirado marks the end of a campaign to find her ‘head blogger.' She partnered with employment website Monster.com to find the right person earlier this year. The ad read: “With IAAS.com, I’ll be displaying my ‘voice’ in a different way and need just the right person to help me express a point of view that I don’t think exists yet in the blog world.”

New Jersey native Alexis Tirado landed the highly-coveted position. And Keys introduced Tirado to the crowd during her Good Morning America showcase in Central Park. The singer told the crowd, “This right here is the lovely lady named Alexis Tirado who is now the head blogger of iamasuperwoman.com.”
Mom Comes First:
Rising Canadian rapper Drake has postponed the ten dates of the European leg of his concert tour due to his mother having to undergo surgery, his publicist said on Thursday. The cancellation of shows in cities including London, Paris and Amsterdam comes right after his much anticipated debut album “Thank Me Later” was released in June and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. “Despite my best hopes, it is apparent that my mother will need surgery earlier than anticipated,” he said in a statement. “In light of this news, I have made the difficult decision to cancel my European tour in order to support her during her recovery, just as she supported me through the years.”

Drake, 23, whose full name is Aubrey Drake Graham, has been extensively touring the United States in the lead up to the European tour that was due to begin on Friday in Norway and finishing with several dates in Britain. The former “Degrassi: The Next Generation” television actor often cites his mother as an inspiration. A spokeswoman declined comment on the type of surgery his mother was undergoing.
Tax Woes:
The rapper Swizz Beatz is being hit hard by the IRS for allegedly falling behind on his taxes. He allegedly owes $652,727 in unpaid taxes going back to 2008. The IRS filed the complaint on June 3. In other news, the rapper Method Man pled guilty to tax evasion this week. He appeared in court, writing a check for $40,000 to repay part of the $106,000 he allegedly owes. “When he found out about the tax issue, he hired someone and immediately corrected it,” defense attorney Peter Frankel said. “He took care of it quickly like the good member of our community he is.” Method Man (aka Clifford Smith) didn't pay taxes from 2004 to 2007, according to prosecutors.

Briefly: Spike Lee is in negotiations to direct “Nagasaki Deadline,” a thriller for Lightstorm Entertainment’s James Cameron, Jon Landau and Rae Sanchini. The film centers on an emotionally damaged FBI agent who must decipher historic events in a desperate race to avert a terrorist plot, according to Deadline New York … Joe Jackson has put temporary brakes on his request to receive an allowance of $15,000 a month from his late son’s estate. Instead, the Jackson patriarch has opted to go after the man whom he claims was responsible for the death of Michael, Dr. Conrad Murray.

Finally: Singer NeYo and his girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw, are expecting a child together. “I am 30, and I do have my first child on the way, and I’m very, very, very excited about that,” the hitmaker told Ebony magazine. The star also revealed that the new addition to his family is due in January. “It’s a New Year’s baby,” the singer told the magazine.
