A little of last week’s column included sympathy to the Harmon family, and that Mrs. Harmon was a liked, loved and lovely lady. Services at Fairhaven on March 19 at 2 p.m.; also to Roscoe Bogan, who lost his daughter, and to Jim Bowman’s mother.

A great effort by the committee folk for the Cultural Faire. NAACP president and Executive Board members manned the VIP booth. James Jones did an unusual entertainment line up and will need our support for his June 5th tribute at Memorial Park; also lots of thanks to Eula Nelson who has never wavered in her support of a Black History Parade and Faire, and of course congrats to Brandon Nelson who is a VIP with Jet Blue.

The OC Links and MBA did a dynamite book signing, coordinated by Joyce Norwood and Sandra Solomon with co-chairs Shaunte Fuller and Linda Williams and, of course, Ms. Publicity, Peggy Boatright (see story & pics next week) ... A beautiful setting and afternoon.

Sorry, folks, I am not a twit or twitter, nor Facebook friendly, and have no clue how to upload, download, maybe reload, but am otherwise computer-confused.

Good trip to those headed to the islands. Happy anniversary to T. Leon and Nellie Berry; I think number 47? Also to Paula Fisher who struts her gown as Ph.D., aka Dr. Fisher.

Til next week …
