Heard lots of compliments about the Black Historical Society’s meeting and the food prepared by Nellie Berry. I thought everybody knew how good she cooks!

Hope the numbers were over the top for attendance of “Red Tails.” I remember when Judy (St. Jude) Sampson would organize theater parties … Speaking of

saints, Jesse Allen is home, doing well from surgery … Also, mother Maime Malone is out of the hospital.

I am still in tears and shock about the death of Mary Kalvi, a most gracious and giving lady. The memorial at her and Jerry’s Anaheim Hills home reflected her beauty inside and out. Hundreds came through from Regional Center, where she recently retired, CAPOC board members and staff, neighbors and friends. I was ok until the mariachis played “I did it My Way.”

I don’t have a lot of info regarding the Black History Parade being held in Anaheim on February 4. Am encouraging attendance and support …

Happy belated and upcoming birthday wishes to Connie Jones, Kathy Johnson and Carolyn Primus Jackson in Atlanta.

Til next week …
