Belated birthday wishes to Shon Berry (December 10), and if you watched BET’s Parental Control, that was Lauren Hayes, with mom Lorie and uncle … Yes, she’s one of the Hayes, “cooks with looks and talent” … Also our Stephanie Johnson is building a great reputation as a makeup artist and stylist. Her ultimate objective is to work with the Make a Wish Foundation.

It really is about reaching out and giving back, like to acknowledge our youth … Now, about community (wannabe) leaders, I can count on one hand, after almost 27 years, the organizations that have bothered to get a $25 per year subscription, or said Thank You. However, I need a calculator to count the complaints (i.e. wrong spelling, or info) and the need for copies, if you or yours are featured otherwise. I mention and highlight people and organizations that support the community and can do more than complain. (Glad to get that out).

Thanks to those who supported the Kwanzaa program, especially the efforts and dedication of Veronica, Clarence, and those who keep trying to bring our communities together. We all need to lead and follow by example.

Til next week …
