The United States Postal Service unveiled the new 44 cent historical Negro League stamps at the CSUF Irvine Campus on Friday July 16th along with the Black Chamber of Orange County.  Pictured are CSU Fullerton Director, Chuck Moore; Metropolitan Water District CAO, Gilbert Ivey; Black Chamber President, Bobby McDonald and Irvine Postmaster, Pete Galindo.

The Negro Leagues Baseball stamp pays tribute to the all-Black professional leagues that operated from 1920 to about 1960.  Considered the "father" of Negro leagues baseball, Andrew "Rube" Foster (1879-1930) established the Negro National League in 1920, the first successful league of African American baseball teams. The stamps feature a scene painted by Kadir Nelson of San Diego.
