10th Union Apprenticeship, Training Forum
SAN BERNARDINO - Students can discover about opportunities to earn money while they are still learning at the 10th annual Union Apprenticeship and Training Forum - Pathway to Successful Careers - on March 9 at the National Orange Show Fairgrounds.
The free event, which is open to students, parents, educators and the
community, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the Damus Room at the National Orange Show Fairgrounds, which is located at 689 S. E St. in San Bernardino. Participants should enter the fairgrounds at Gate 7 on Arrowhead Avenue. Lunch and opportunity drawings will be provided to attendees.
Examples of some of the trades participating are the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department; electricians; masons; operating engineers; plumbers/pipe-fitters; nurses; teamsters; carpenters, ironworks; and laborers. Students will have the opportunity to experience hands-on demonstrations and activities with apprenticeship coordinators that will relate their trades to real world applications. San Bernardino County Superintendent Gary Thomas will welcome students and the community to the event.
