Clarinetist and recent 2010 graduate of Redlands East Valley High School, Myles Davis, is a 17 year old who competed in the Riverside NAACP’s local Academic Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO). He advanced to the 32^nd Annual National Competitions, which was held on July 9^th during the 101^st NAACP National Convention where he received two bronze medals in the categories of instrumental classical and instrumental contemporary (jazz).

Davis was one of three Inland Empire students to represent the Riverside NAACP, competing with over 102 chapters from all over the United States.

ACT-SO is an enrichment program designed to recruit, stimulate and encourage high academics and cultural achievement among high school students. There are 26 categories ranging from Science (Microbiology), Physics, Visual Arts (Architecture and Filmmaking), Humanities, Business and Performing Arts. The ACT-SO Program has a proven record in cultivating the talent of youth and has continued to be a thriving venue for future leaders.

Davis has been accepted to the Berklee College of Music in Boston and hopes to attend this fall where he plans on studying performance and film composition.
